Background: Born in San Diego, California. Mr. Hieatt is experienced in medical malpractice, insurance defense, personal injury, real estate, public entity defense and all phases of civil litigation. Mr. Hieatt lectures as part of the Cuesta College and Allan Hancock College Nursing Programs and provides in-service training for nurses and health care professionals at local hospitals on all medical/legal topics ranging from advance directives and medical documentation to appropriately channeling criticism and EMTALA. He also lectures on sexual harassment awareness, recognition, and avoidance at the Allan Hancock Law Enforcement Academy.
